Vernal Rainbow Canvas Print

This shot was taken from The Mist Trail, a short but very steep hike in Yosemite National Park so named because it takes you right past several large waterfalls. The mist often produces rainbows down at the base of the falls and the sun was in just the right spot to make one when I was setting up for this photo. If you look down at the rocks in the pool you can see some people to give some perspective on how massive the waterfall is.

Growing up in humid, flat central Florida didn't leave a lot of opportunity for outdoor recreation other than trips to the beach. Despite growing up in what many would call a tropical paradise, it was always the mountains that called to me. At age 26 I finally made the move to take up permanent residence in the mountains of Chattanooga, Tennessee while my wife completed her residency. It was a great start, but as my wife's work concluded it was time to go bigger.
